Printer Installation on Computers

Windows Computers

Install Printall, Colorprintall on a PC (must be completed on campus)

  • Go to Start, Computer and map a drive to \\kentnet2.kentlaw.edu\printing
  • Double click on the Addprinter-Windows folder and double click the Printall icon
  • Click Run, click Add Printers (may take a few seconds)
  • Click Exit. The Printall, Colorprintall printers have been added

Macintosh Computers

Install Printall, Colorprintall on a Mac (must be completed on campus)

  • On the top toolbar click Go, Connect to server
  • In the server address type smb://kentnet2.kentlaw.edu/printing
  • You will need to log in as a registered users
  • In the Name field type kentlaw\yourkentusername and your password and click Connect
  • Mavericks, Mountain Lion and Lion Users
    • If you have 10.7 Lion,10.8 Mountain Lion or 10.9 Mavericks Operating System please complete the below
    • On your Mac click Go -> Connect to server
    • In the server address type smb://kentnet2.kentlaw.edu/printing
    • You will need to log in as a registered user
    • In the Name field type kentlaw\yourkentusername
    • For the password type in your Kent password
    • Check Remember this password in my keychain
    • Click Connect
    • Double click Printers Mac Lion.dmg
    • Double click Printers_mountain_lion
    • Enter your IIT Chicago-Kent email
    • Enter your IIT Chicago-Kent password
    • You should get a message saying the printer is installed
    • The black and white PrintAll and color Colorprintall printers will now be available in your printer list
  • Yosemite Users
    • Click the Apple icon and choose System Preference
    • Click Printers and Scanners
    • Click the + sign
    • Press the Control key while clicking the Default icon and choose Customize Toolbar
    • Drag the Advanced (gear) icon to the toolbar
    • Click Done
    • Click Advanced
    • Choose Windows as the Type
    • In the URL field type smb://kentnet2.kentlaw.edu/printall
    • In the Name field type Printall Student Printer
    • In the Use drop down choose Generic PostScript printer
    • Click Add
    • Check Duplex Printing Unit
