Keith Ann Stiverson
Director of the Chicago-Kent College of Law Library and Senior Lecturer
Keith Ann Stiverson received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was publications editor for Law and Policy in International Business. Her master's degree in library science was earned at Catholic University of America, and she completed 30 of 36 hours toward an M.A. in English Literature at Georgetown University.
Ms. Stiverson was admitted to the District of Columbia and Ohio bars and was engaged in private practice (municipal bonds) for several years in Cincinnati before leaving to take the position of special assistant to the law librarian at the Library of Congress. She also served for several years on a special team created to improve the library's relations with Congress.
Ms. Stiverson came to IIT Chicago-Kent in May 2001 from the University of Texas, where she was associate director of the law library for five years. She was recently elected vice-president/president-elect of the American Association of Law Libraries; her term as vice-president begins in July 2014. Ms. Stiverson is particularly interested in copyright law and other information policy issues that affect libraries.
