Apply for Early Decision

Chicago-Kent College of Law offers a binding Early Decision Program for applicants who know that Chicago-Kent is their first choice for law school. The program permits applicants to receive an admission and scholarship decision much earlier in the application cycle. Early Decision applicants must make a commitment to attend Chicago-Kent College of Law if admitted and withdraw all other law school applications immediately after notification. Although Early Decision applicants who are admitted to Chicago-Kent will be considered for available merit scholarships at the time of admission, the awarding of Federal and private loans will not take place until the spring. Therefore, applicants should only apply for the Early Decision Program if they are willing to abide by the terms of the Early Decision Agreement and are in a position to commit to attending Chicago-Kent even though they will not have a complete financial aid award by the time the tuition deposit is due.

How to Apply

Applicants who apply for admission under the Early Decision Program must submit an application for admission and signed Early Decision Agreement (.pdf) by October 31, 2014 and complete their admissions file by November 14, 2014. In addition, Early Decision applicants must agree not to submit an early decision application to any other law school during the current admissions cycle and agree that if admitted through the Early Decision Program they will immediately withdraw all other law school applications, not submit any additional applications, and will enroll at Chicago-Kent in fall 2015.

Notification and Tuition Deposit

Early Decision applicants will receive an admissions decision by November 28, 2014. Those applicants offered admission will be required to pay a $300 discounted tuition deposit by December 15, 2014. Applicants selected for scholarship awards are typically notified in the acceptance letter. Early Decision applicants may be admitted, denied or placed on the waitlist for further consideration during the regular application process. Candidates who are not admitted under the Early Decision Program are released from the terms of the Early Decision Agreement and are not obligated to enroll if admitted later in the cycle. Chicago-Kent reserves the right to provide other law schools with the names of applicants admitted under the Early Decision Program.
