Class of 2011
Joy graduated cum laude from Wheaton College with a major in history. During her junior year, she spent a semester in D.C. working as an intern for Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert. After graduating, she spent two years working as a legal assistant in mass torts and real estate in the Chicago branch of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, LLP. During the summer after her 1L year, she externed for the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan in the Northern District of Illinois.
Joy is an officer in the Christian Legal Society at IIT Chicago-Kent. She is interested in child law and public interest law. In her free time, she directs her church choir and works for Those Funny Little People.
