Class of 2014
Brett Weber grew up in Mokena, Illinois. He graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. After graduation, Brett worked as a Design Engineer for Hadady Corporation and Caterpillar while pursuing his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University where he researched magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia.
After his first year at Chicago-Kent, he worked as a Patent Analyst at Global IP Law Group. Brett continued to work at Global IP Law Group during his 2L year, and served as a judicial extern with the Honorable John Tharp Jr. in the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to his 3L year, he was a summer associate at K&L gates in Chicago. Brett is on the executive board of Chicago-Kent Law Review and the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property. His main area of legal interest is Intellectual Property law with a focus on patent litigation. In his free time, Brett enjoys staying active as well as watching his favorite Chicago sports teams.
