Class of 2014

Valerie Raedy received her B.A. from Lawrence University and Conservatory in Appleton, WI.  She graduated cum laude with a double major in government and music.  After college, she joined Teach for America and spent two years teaching at an alternative school in New Orleans, LA where she was a regional finalist for the Sue Lehman Teaching Award.  She then became a founding member of the KIPP charter school, New Orleans Leadership Academy and created a nonfiction literacy program modeled after a successful program in New York.

During the summer after her first year at Chicago-Kent, she worked for Chicago Public Schools and participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic.  As a 2L, she externed for the Honorable Rebecca Pallmeyer, a district judge for the Northern District of Illinois.  Valerie is a member of the Chicago-Kent Law Review and the Trial Advocacy Team.  Currently, Valerie is a summer associate at Neal, Gerber, and Eisenberg.  In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to live music, and exploring the city.
