Chicago-Kent Honors Scholar
Class of 2017
Kiersten Hansen grew up on a farm in rural Iowa but fell in love with Chicago at an early age. She graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Classics and Political Science. Prior to law school she worked as a litigation paralegal for a midsized Chicago firm specializing in defense of medical malpractice and professional negligence.
After her first year of law school, Kiersten worked for the Honorable Justice Robert E. Gordon in the Illinois Appellate Court where she had the opportunity to write a number of appellate court opinions. She is currently working as a law clerk in a commercial law firm in Chicago.
Although Kiersten has a variety of interests in the legal world, she is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Society and is working towards a certificate in the Labor and Employment Law. In her free time she enjoys attending Northwestern football games, spending time with friends and family, and spoiling her dog.
