Class of 2017
Kristin Opal graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. During her undergraduate career, Kristin worked as a research assistant at the University's Infant Cognition Laboratory. Before entering law school, Kristin worked at Pierce and Associates, P.C., a Chicago law firm representing the mortgage banking and real estate industry.
As a 1L, Kristin volunteered at the Daley Center's Self-Help Web Center, providing legal assistance to pre-se litigants. She was also an active member of the Criminal Law Society. Following 1L, Kristin participated in Chicago-Kent's Criminal Defense Litigation Clinic, where she helped provide criminal defense representation for felonies and misdemeanors in trial and appellate courts at the state and federal levels. As a 2L, Kristin will be serving as an extern for Justice Robert E. Gordon of the Illinois Appellate Court.
In her free time, Kristin enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Marnie.
