Class of 2018
Ben Mahon has a BS in Human Biology from Cornell University and a teaching certificate from Northwestern. Prior to Chicago-Kent Ben spent six years teaching high school biology in the Chicago Public School system where he also helped out with the cross country and track teams. Ben helped lead his team to the first state championship in cross country by a CPS team since 1963.
Ben is involved with Law Review, Moot Court Honor Society, The Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property and the Intellectual Property Law Society. He is interested in a career in Intellectual Property law, especially as it relates to genetics. He spent his 1L summer at McAndrews Held and Malloy, a patent boutique, to which he will return next summer. He is also interested in school law and policy.
Ben is an avid runner, sports fan and science nerd. In his free time he likes to travel with his wife Jessica, explore Chicago's neighborhoods, and discover new restaurants.
