Class of 2019
Rosie O’Malley graduated from DePaul University’s Honors Program, where she majored in Art History and Political Science, and studied abroad in Rome, Italy. Prior to law school, she was a regional sales representative for a rum company, worked in retail at a sporting goods store and a high-end womenswear store, interned with the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust, was a floral merchandiser, babysat (she still babysits), and volunteered as an English language tutor.
During her time at Chicago-Kent, Rosie has been an active member of the National Lawyers Guild and currently serves as president, where she enjoys putting on events to raise awareness around movements for social, racial, and economic justice. She is also a member of the Kent Justice Foundation. Her legal work experiences to date include working at CARPLS Legal Aid Hotline and the Community Activism Law Alliance, and volunteering with Cabrini Green Legal Aid. Since January 2018, she has been a 711 Intern with the Lake County Public Defender’s Office. She also volunteers as a legal observer with the National Lawyers Guild, monitoring and documenting police conduct and arrests at protests.
