Edgar Matias
Chicago-Kent Honors Scholar
Class of 2020
Edgar Matias received a B.S. in Biological Engineering and Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After graduation, Edgar worked at the Hope Laboratory at Northwestern University researching HIV.
At Chicago-Kent, Edgar served as an Executive Article Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property and as a Senior and Junior Associate for the Chicago-Kent Law Review. Edgar also served as a teaching assistant for Torts and Legal Writing, a co-coordinator with the Public Interest Resource Center, and volunteered with the Self-Help Web Center. Through Chicago Kent’s mediation clinic, Edgar also became certified as a mediator and mediated cases at the Daley Center.
Edgar spent his summer after 1L working in-house at AbbVie in their IP department. After his 2L summer, Edgar was a summer associate at Quarles & Brady, where he will be working after graduation.
