Heather attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she graduated with her BA in Political Science before completing her MSc in Healthcare Management from the University of Birmingham and University of Manchester Business School in the UK. Before attending law school, Heather spent a decade working in the international non-profit sector, focusing her work on women's rights.

As a 1L, Heather volunteered at the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic counseling pro-se clients on the benefits of filing for an order of protection, and she spent her first summer as an extern for the Honorable Virginia Kendall in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  During her 2L summer, Heather was a Summer Associate at Schiff Hardin, where she plans to return upon graduation. In 2019 Heather was awarded a Women's Bar Foundation Scholarship. She is a senior member of Chicago-Kent's Moot Court Honors Society and a Notes and Comments Editor on the Chicago-Kent Law Review. In her free time, Heather enjoys hiking, fishing, and traveling.
