Life at Chicago-Kent

Chicago-Kent is located within the downtown Chicago Loop, blocks away from the city’s courthouses, government centers, and countless law firms. It sits at the epicenter of one of the top legal markets in the nation, ready to challenge and support new lawyers as they explore their careers.

Chicago is a bustling, vibrant city known for its music, food, sports, theater, and world-class museums. A thriving nightlife and restaurant district lies within walking distance of the law school—and public transportation can conveniently take students anywhere from Lake Michigan’s iconic beaches to the city’s many diverse neighborhoods.

The city also serves as home to roughly 9,000 Chicago-Kent alumni: fellow legal professionals who are ready to help students and graduates find their footing in one of the most dynamic and hardest-working cities in the world.

There’s so much here. Chicago has a very defined identity, a neighborhood feel, a broad-shoulders appeal where people really put their head down and get to work.”

Location and Getting Around

Chicago-Kent College of Law is located in Illinois Tech’s Conviser Law Center at 565 West Adams Street (at the corner of South Jefferson Street) in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, one block west of Union Station (Amtrak and Metra commuter trains) and three blocks south of the Ogilvie Transportation Center (Chicago/Northwestern station for Metra commuter trains). Both train stations are the terminus of numerous Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus routes, making it easy to catch a cab, train, or bus to or from practically anywhere in the city or suburbs. Additionally, full-time enrollment at Chicago-Kent includes a Chicago Transit Authority U-Pass that makes getting around inexpensive

For those that drive, the law school's proximity to Chicago's major north/south and east/west expressways—just two blocks east of the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) and three blocks north of the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290)—makes commuting easy. We have discount parking agreements with multiple garages within walking distance of our campus.
