Zoe Appler

Mini-Bio:  Zoe Appler is originally from Buffalo, NY, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from American University. Zoe was previously on her university’s mock trial team. At Chicago-Kent, Zoe is involved in Society of Women in Law, the Federalist Society, and the Student Bar Association. Zoe is a 1L student and is interested in pursuing a career in Criminal Law and receiving a Certificate in Criminal Litigation.


Pavlo Bogachenko

Mini-Bio:  Pavlo Bogachenko is originally from Odessa, Ukraine and studied law at Odessa National University. Pavlo also has a degree in Graphic Design. Pavlo came to Chicago-Kent because the law firm he was working at in the Ukraine had an international student program with Chicago-Kent. Pavlo is focusing on Trial Advocacy while at Chicago-Kent.

Mini-Bio:  Payton Box is originally from Pensacola, FL, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Florida State University. The strong Legal Writing program at Chicago-Kent really stood out to Payton when she was looking and applying to law schools. Payton is planning on working in Chicago-Kent’s various Legal Clinics in order to gain experience and get an idea of what type of law she wants to practice.


Gabby Christian

Mini-Bio:   Gabby Christian is originally from Detroit, Michigan, and majored in Criminal Justice/Criminology and Philosophy and minored in Spanish at Loyola University Chicago. While at Chicago-Kent, Gabby is involved in the Criminal Law Society and the Society of Women in Law. Gabby is passionate about the Criminal Justice System and passionate about advocating for people who are involved in the system. While at Chicago-Kent, Gabby is focusing on Criminal Law.


Amy Cmiel

Mini-Bio:  Amy Cmiel is originally from Naperville, IL, and she attended the University of Iowa where she majored in Business Marketing. Amy is a 1L student representative for both the Kent Justice Foundation and the Society of Women in Law. Amy is also involved in the IP Law Society and Corporate Law Society at Chicago-Kent. Amy is interested in two different types of law, Soft IP Law and Criminal Litigation, and she plans on exploring both while at Chicago-Kent.

 


Lauren Ehardt

Mini-Bio:  Lauren Ehardt is originally from Spring Grove, IL, and majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice at Loras College. The summer start program at Chicago-Kent really stood out to Lauren when she was looking at law schools. Lauren also plans on participating in the 1L Your Way Program at Chicago-Kent, which allows her to personalize the second semester of her first year by either doing a Legal Clinic or taking an elective course.


Ashley Halsen

Mini-Bio:  Ashley Halsen is originally from Monticello, IN, and majored in Criminal Justice and Sociology at Indiana University-Bloomington. Ashley is involved in the Environmental Law Society and the Kent Justice Foundation at Chicago-Kent. Before going to Chicago-Kent, Ashley worked in a prosecutor’s office for a year, which affirmed her decision to go to law school. Ashley has a strong interest in pursuing Environmental Law and Family Law while at Chicago-Kent.


Scott LaMunyon

Mini-Bio:  Scott LaMunyon is originally from Towanda, KS, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Kansas State University. Scott competed in a Mock Supreme Court case in his constitutional law course in undergrad. At Chicago-Kent, Scott is involved in the Student-Alumni Board, IP Law Society, Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and Lambdas. Scott is a 1L student and knows he wants to live and practice overseas. Scott is pursuing Chicago-Kent’s International Law Certificate.


Erin Monforti

Mini-Bio:  Erin Monforti is originally from Chicago, IL, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social and Economic Development Policy from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Erin is involved in the Society of Women in Law. Erin enjoys Chicago-Kent’s strong programs for applied learning and practical experience. Erin plans on focusing on Municipal Law and Local Government and is pursuing the Public Interest Certificate that Chicago-Kent offers. The Public Service and Pro Bono requirements for the certificate really interested Erin.

Mini-Bio: Josh Mosher is originally from Rockford, IL, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Bradley University. Josh really enjoys the technology and innovation aspect in the legal field that Chicago-Kent focuses on. Josh’s thoughts about him wanting to do Business Law were confirmed in his first semester Contracts class. Josh plans on pursuing a certificate in Business Law.


Mia Rivecco

Mini-Bio: Mia Rivecco is originally from Taylorville, IL and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Communications from Bradley University. While in undergrad, Mia was involved in the Orchesis Dance Company and the St. Jude Up ‘Til Dawn programs. Mia came straight to Chicago-Kent from undergrad. Mia is interested in the many Legal Clinics Chicago-Kent offers and is also interested in Public Interest law.


Ricardo Santiago

Mini-Bio: Ricardo Santiago is originally from Chicago, IL, and graduated from Northeastern Illinois University where he majored in Communication, Media, and Theater. At Chicago-Kent, Ricardo is involved in the Hispanic-Latino Law Students Association, Student Humanitarian Network, and the Self-Help Web Center at the Richard J. Daley Center. Ricardo enjoys Legal Writing 1 as it is challenging but he has a very helpful and knowledgeable professor. Ricardo is focusing on Public Interest Law and pursuing the Public Interest Certificate

Mini-Bio: Elizabeth Varon is originally from Harwood Heights, IL, and majored in History and Secondary School Teaching at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Elizabeth is involved in many student organizations at Chicago-Kent such as the Kent Justice Foundation, Student Humanitarian Network, ACLU C-K Chapter, the Disability Advocacy Law Student Association and the Society of Women in Law. Elizabeth plans to pursue certificates in both Public Interest Law and Labor & Employment Law.

Mini-Bio: Manuela Vergara is originally from Bogota, Colombia. Manuela graduated from Missouri Southern State University and majored in Political Science and International Studies. At Chicago-Kent, Manuela is involved in the Kent Justice Foundation, the Hispanic-Latino Law Students Association and the Society of Women in Law. Manuela has enjoyed being involved in the Future Law Practice program while in law school and also participates in the mentorship programs Chicago-Kent offers.

Mini-Bio: Zelpha Williams is originally from Los Angeles, CA, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University. At Chicago-Kent, Zelpha is involved in the Society of Women in Law, Kent Justice Foundation, and Hispanic-Latino Law Student Association. Zelpha is a 1L student and wants to practice as a criminal defense attorney. Zelpha is pursuing Chicago-Kent's Public Interest and Criminal Litigation Certificates.
