When is the Fall Recruiting Program?
Our upcoming program begins on Monday, August 7, 2017. We have specifically not placed an end date on our Fall Recruiting Program to allow employers the flexibility that they need. Please contact Tamara McClatchey at firstname.lastname@example.org or (312) 906-5207 if you have questions.
Where will interviews be held?
Interviews will take place at Chicago-Kent College of Law, 565 West Adams Street, in downtown Chicago. The exact interview rooms will be assigned closer to the interview date. We request that all interviewers report to the Career Services Office on the third floor, Suite 360, on the day of the interviews to be directed to their interview rooms.
How do I sign up?
Registering with Symplicity
To register with Symplicity, first fill out a quick registration form on the Symplicity website. You will then receive a welcome e-mail message from the Career Services Office with your log-in information which will allow you to post open positions and fill out your employer profile. To register, follow this link: https://law-kent-csm.symplicity.com/employers/. At the sign-in screen, click on the "Register" tab and provide the information requested.
Already Registered with Symplicity?
If, after submitting your registration, you receive the message "The email address you entered already exists in the system. Please try again, or, if you have forgotten your password, try using the 'forgot password' function," it means you are already in our Symplicity system. You may also email email@example.com to request a new password.
We strongly recommend registering online, as it allows you access to the schedule and resumes of those students that bid for interviews with you. However, if you prefer, please complete the registration form and return via mail, fax or email to:
Assistant Director of Career Services
Chicago-Kent College of Law
565 West Adams Street, Room 360
Chicago, IL 60614
Fax: (312) 906-5171
How much does it cost to participate?
There is a $100.00 registration fee for all law firms and corporations that interview on campus. An invoice will be sent upon completion of the Fall Recruiting Program. Government and public interest agencies are exempt from this fee.
Can I choose the students I want to interview?
Interview selection is handled by our Symplicity online bidding system. Employers may set their hiring criteria, and only students that meet that hiring criteria may bid for an interview. Chicago-Kent offers employers the opportunity to pre-select interview candidates. You will be able to pre-select up to 50% of your interview schedule candidates. The remainder of the interview slots on your schedule will be filled with students who meet your stated hiring criteria and have requested an interview with you. We offer this opportunity so that you have the ability to interview students you have identified as a good fit for your firm, agency or organization based on their initial application materials. After the interview schedule has been assigned, employers are able to view all students on their interview schedule, and the resumes of all students that bid for an interview but did not receive one (wait list students). If any employer is interested in adding additional slots to their interview schedule to meet with students on their wait list, we are happy to assist with this. Furthermore, employers are always welcome to contact students from their wait list directly to schedule interviews at their offices.
I signed up for a Resume Collect, but now I think I want to do an OCI, can I?
Absolutely! If you would like to interview students from your Resume Collect, please let us know, and we can put together an interview schedule for you and facilitate your interviewing of students on campus at Chicago-Kent.
The Career Services staff looks forward to working with you in your recruiting efforts. If we can be of any assistance, please contact us. Please contact Tamara McClatchey, Director of Career Services & Recruitment Programs, with any questions regarding Fall Recruiting.
