Commitment to Success
Chicago-Kent provides a variety of programs and offices to help ensure that all students develop the skills needed to succeed academically. Through a variety of workshops, one-on-one guidance, and readily available resources, all students have access to information to enable them to become effective and successful law students.
All students may attend the Academic Support Program's "Getting Started" workshop series.Workshops feature faculty, administrators, and upper-level students explaining the basic skills needed for law school success, including preparing for class, creating outlines/flowcharts, studying for exams, writing exam answers, and interpreting exam results constructively.
Teaching Assistants are assigned to all first-year courses, including Legal Writing. TAs are selected from among Chicago-Kent's top upper-level students based on their overall performance in law school and in particular courses. TAs in first-year doctrinal courses hold weekly office hours and at least two seminars open to all students in the class.
