Taking Exams

In preparation for Spring semester exams, please review the information carefully.

Spring 2020 Exam Number:

Go to your Web for Students account and navigate to "Spring 2020" link under the "Schedule" heading in the left hand menu. (Note: Your exam number changes each semester; please do not use your Fall exam number; and please do not use your CWID.)

Step One: Download and print (if desired) the take home exam file.

  1. Log in using your login credentials (for Student ID, use your CWID without the A; for Password, use the last 6 digits of your CWID).

  2. Click on the ‘Courses’ tab at the top of the page.

  3. Click on the name of the course that applies to the final exam you intend to download. 

  4. Please note the exams listed as Active are your exams for this Spring Semester 2020. 

  5. Click on the “Action” box.

  6. Click on the “Download Assignment” button, and confirm that you have successfully downloaded your exam. Open the file and then save the file to your desktop or print it for easy reference.

  7. Please note that your available time to complete the exam starts when you download your exam file. 

 


Step Two: Complete your exam.  DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME ANYWHERE IN THE DOCUMENT

  1. Complete your exam using Microsoft Word or another word processing program and remember to save periodically.

  2. Insert a header in your word document and type your Course Name_Professor_Your Spring 2020 Exam Number and insert page numbers into the document’s header or footer on every page of your answers.

  3. Save your final exam document as a PDF file. 

  4. Name the document as follows: Course Name_Professor_Your Spring 2020 Exam Number. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME OR CWID IN THE DOCUMENT OR THE DOCUMENT NAME.

  5. If you are handwriting your exam answers, you can submit a PDF document of your handwritten exams answers. 

 


Step Three: Upload your completed exam document.

  1. Once you have completed your exam, log back into ExamSoft.

  2. Click on the “Courses” tab at the top of the page.

  3. Click on the course name.

  4. Click on the Action Upload Assignment button. Browse your computer and select your completed exam answer file, choose open, and then click ‘Upload.’

  5. If the upload was successful, a green box at the top of the page will confirm that your document has been uploaded. You will not receive an email confirmation, but the green box indicates your exam was successfully uploaded.

  6. You can confirm the time of your upload by checking the “Upload Date” column of the course.

  7. Once you see this confirmation, you may X out of the box and log out of ExamSoft.

  • All Exams are due by Friday, May 15th at Noon.
