ITS Resources for Students

Student Services and Resources

The following are ITS services and resources most commonly used by our students:

Public Computers

PCs are available for use in the Student Lounge. PCs and iMacs are available in Lab 900.

Do not leave the PC or Mac unattended once you have logged on and remember to log off before leaving the area. All lab and public computers at Chicago-Kent will be locked for security reasons if a computer is idle for more than five minutes. To unlock simply log back into the computer with your Chicago-Kent credentials. The computer will return to the state it was prior to being locked.

All lab and public computers at Chicago-Kent have an application called Deep Freeze installed. Nightly and once a public computer is restarted, Deep Freeze will restore a computer back to its original configuration, meaning no data saved locally on these computers will be saved. This assists the ITS department with malware and viruses as well as corruption issues with the operating system.

All lab and public computers also have the following software installed: 7-Zip, Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader, Adobe Air, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, iTunes, Microsoft Office, Mozilla Firefox, Quicktime, Symantec Endpoint Protection, and WordPerfect. Public and lab computers also have the “printall” and “colorprintall” printers installed.
