The Supreme Court and Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Org.: A Panel Discussion

The Supreme Court and Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Org.: A Panel Discussion

May 17, 2022
 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Conviser Law Center in the Auditorium

In response to the apparent decision by a majority of the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, Chicago-Kent will be hosting a panel discussion about this critical topic. Assuming that the final opinion will be largely the same as the draft opinion, millions of women throughout the country will soon lose a right that they have held for over 49 years.

Dean Anita K. Krug will moderate the panel, which will feature contributions from Chicago-Kent professors Carolyn Shapiro, Steven Heyman, Kathy Baker, and Felice Batlan, along with Chicago-Kent alumna, Jennifer Welch '94, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Illinois (PPIL). They will discuss the range of issues implicated by the Court's holding, which will be followed by an open discussion.

If you would like to submit a question for the panel, please visit here.

The panel will be held in person on Tuesday, May 17th, from 2 to 3 pm CST at the Conviser Law Center in the Auditorium. There will be a recording of the panel made available following the event. Thank you to the Chicago-Kent Society of Women in Law for co-sponsoring this important discussion.
