Yu Di and Monica Hernandez to Deliver Student Addresses at 2014 IIT Chicago-Kent Commencement Ceremony

IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law students Yu Di and Monica Hernandez will address their fellow graduates at the law school's 2014 Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 18, at 2:30 p.m. at the UIC Forum, 725 West Roosevelt Road, in Chicago.

Valedictorian Yu Di will deliver the J.D. Commencement address. Monica Hernandez, a candidate for an LL.M. in International Intellectual Property Law, will deliver the graduate address. IIT Chicago-Kent will award approximately 248 J.D. degrees and 81 LL.M. degrees.

Yu Di earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering and informational science at the University of Science and Technology of China. Di also received a master of science in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Following graduation, he will continue working at Citadel Investment Group, where he is a senior software developer.

Monica Hernandez is a candidate for an LL.M. in International Intellectual Property Law. Hernandez came to IIT Chicago-Kent from Colombia, where she was an examining attorney at the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce in Bogotá. She earned her law degree from Sergio Arboleda University. Following graduation, Hernandez will sit for the New York bar exam.

Kwame Y. Raoul, Illinois State Senator (D-13) and a 1993 graduate of IIT Chicago-Kent, will deliver the keynote address.

Founded in 1888, IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law is the law school of Illinois Institute of Technology, a private, Ph.D.-granting institution with programs in engineering, psychology, architecture, business, design and law.
