The Online Certificate in Financial Markets Compliance (FMC) at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law is the first program in the country to provide entry-level and new compliance professionals with a deep understanding of the field which is applicable across different types of financial institutions.
The FMC is a seven-month online program designed by financial services compliance professionals and law and business school professors. The program introduces students to the increasingly complex compliance demands and requirements of the various regulators of the financial markets. Students examine the regulation of financial markets from a variety of perspectives, the fundamentals of how financial markets function, elements of an effective compliance program, managing and mitigating risk, conducting investigations, partnering with auditors and regulators, and how to establish adequate monitoring and testing systems.

Discover the Institute for Compliance
Chicago-Kent established the Institute for Compliance in 2011—an institute that increases knowledge of the importance of compliance and prepares students for financial compliance careers. Drawing on the law school's alumni network and the institute's board of advisors who work in compliance—some in very senior positions—Chicago-Kent hosts a series of discussions about careers in compliance for students and alumni.
