    Exploring Careers in Criminal Prosecution

    The Criminal Law Society and CSO welcome prosecutors from the Cook County State's Attorney Office and the U.S. Attorney's Office who will share their experiences and provide information about law student and post-grad opportunities in their respective offices. There will also be a Q&A session where students can ask questions about prosecution work, how to prepare to be a prosecutor, the life of a prosecutor, etc. Join us!

    Police Militarization Panel: Perspectives on Ferguson

    Join us for a discussion on the disturbing trend of police militarization in light of the events in Ferguson, Missouri. Lunch will be provided. Speakers will include Sheila Bedi, Northwestern Law professor with a research focus on mass imprisonment; David Warnock, Chicago-Kent law student who will speak about police militarization from a veteran’s perspective; Max Suchan, DePaul student who was arrested in Ferguson while volunteering as a Legal Observer; and a representative from the grassroots organization We Charge Genocide (wechargegenocide.org).     The new Praxis Certificate Program, designed for students who are interested in fully embracing an experiential course of study, is now open for enrollment to all second-year full-time students and second-year and third-year part-time students.
