Cultivate Valuable Practical Skills
Not only will you engage a challenging curriculum at Chicago-Kent, but as a student you will also have opportunities to participate in rigorous skills training and experiential learning in fields of law directly related to your career goals. Our location in a major legal market gives you access to a wealth of networking and practice opportunities.
The law school provides excellent opportunities for you to strengthen your résumé by gaining real-world legal experience. We offer a wide variety of externship opportunities that enable you to receive academic credit for externing with a designated supervising attorney. Our own in-house law firm—encompassing a wide variety of practice areas—immerses you in litigation, transactional case work, negotiations and mediations for clients of the C-K Law Group of Chicago-Kent.
Additionally, many of our students elect to develop and refine litigation skills by participating in our advocacy programs. Our Trial Advocacy Program is spearheaded by a talented corps of judges, prosecutors, public defenders and private practitioners. Via the Moot Court Honor Society, qualified students can complete intensive coursework in appellate advocacy and compete intramurally in moot court tournaments throughout the country.
