Financing Law School

Regardless of your financial circumstances, the financial aid program at Chicago-Kent helps bridge the gap between the cost of education at Chicago-Kent and your resources, including family and/or spousal contributions, savings and earnings, and other assets. We determine each applicant's need through a uniform system of analysis.

Various kinds of aid are available including scholarships awarded by Chicago-Kent and loans from the federal government and institutional as well as private agencies. All financial aid funds are based on availability, and formulas and sources are subject to change.

It is important to remember that applying for federal and private loans is a separate procedure from applying for admission. In order to receive timely financial aid award information, we suggest that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be submitted as soon as possible after January 1. If you have been admitted to the entering class and have completed your FAFSA and designated Chicago-Kent as a recipient of your Student Aid Report, you will automatically receive a financial aid award letter once we begin releasing aid packages in March.

Applications for financial aid are reviewed only after all required financial aid materials are received. Scholarship assistance may also be available for qualified applicants. Chicago-Kent is also pleased to offer a Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) to assist Chicago-Kent graduates in public interest careers.

Further information about financial aid is available in the Overview of the Financial Aid Process and from the Office of Financial Aid at (312) 906-5180 or The U.S. Department of Education provides a website with comprehensive information on student financial aid.
