Student COVID-19 Online Resources

As we transition to an online-only teaching environment for Spring/Summer 2020, we are providing the resources listed below to assist you in using the technologies your professors are likely to use and address questions and concerns you may have. Please note that different classes will likely have different mixes of technology and approaches. You will receive more information from your professors. Please ensure that you have a working laptop with internet connectivity as well as a microphone and/or camera.

Synchronous learning (real-time sessions):

  • Google Meet: 

    • A video conferencing tool that allows both audio/video or audio-only conferencing. The tool is built into Google Apps for Chicago-Kent and works seamlessly with Google Calendar. Many professors will use Google Meet for real-time class sessions.

    • You can use Google Meet even if you don’t have a microphone or webcam by dialing in with your phone

    • Google Meet can be downloaded to your smartphone or tablet via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

    • In addition to its use for class meetings, you can also use Google Meet for one-on-one meetings or meetings with your classmates.

Asynchronous learning (instruction not in real time):

  • Panopto: 

    • To access videos posted by your professor, go to and sign in with your portal credentials.

    • You will be notified when a video has been posted for your class.
