Your parents income is not applicable on your FAFSA because you are a graduate student. The tax year that is used on the FAFSA is two years prior to the awarding year. Thus, you do not need to wait for your current income taxes to be completed to submit your FAFSA. You will be considered for federal funds in the form of Federal Direct Loans and Federal Work Study. There are no federal or state grants for graduate students.
Typically it takes about 1-2 weeks for our office to receive your FAFSA.
