Tuition for Other Degree Programs

LL.M. and Other Graduate Programs
J.S.D. Program
IPMM Program

2021-22 Academic Year

Chicago-Kent is committed to helping students manage the cost of a legal education. New students will pay a guaranteed, per-credit-hour tuition rate for their law school studies. The rate is contingent upon the year in which a student commences studies at Chicago-Kent and will not increase for the duration of the J.D. program, even if the student takes an approved leave of absence for one or more terms.

Students must complete 87 credit hours to earn the J.D. degree. Student fees are additional and are not included in the tuition guarantee. Descriptions of each student fee appear at the bottom of this page. New students must be enrolled past the drop/add deadline in their first term of attendance to lock in the guaranteed tuition rate for that entering class.

LRAP Supplemental Fee
This fee provides funding for the Chicago-Kent Loan Repayment Assistance Program, which provides assistance to graduates in public interest careers.

Chicago-Kent Fitness Center Fee
Beginning in 2021 (date TBD), all law students will have access to the Chicago-Kent Fitness Center located on the Concourse level of the law school. The fitness center fee covers the cost of equipment, towel service, maintenance and supplies.

Student Health Insurance
All students registered for at least 1 credit hour, regardless of their division, are required to have health insurance and will automatically be billed for student health insurance for the year unless they provide proof of other health insurance coverage. Coverage for dependents and spouses is also available for additional charges.

Chicago Transit Authority U-Pass
The U-Pass is a discount fare card that can be used for unlimited rides on all CTA buses and trains. All full-time students are required to participate in the U-Pass program and may not opt out. (Please note: We regret that although many part-time students commute via the CTA, due to the CTA's structuring of the program evening and part-time day students are unable to participate.)
