Technology Development & Training Librarian
Emily earned her B.A. magna cum laude from Wheaton College in 2005, with a double major in English Literature and Art Education. In 2008 she received her M.S.L.I.S. from the University of Illinois with a faculty special award of merit.Emily joined the library in 2005 as Assistant to the Library Director and transitioned to her current position in 2008. Emily manages WordPress websites for faculty and staff organizations at the law school, and has been responsible for the library website, usability testing, staff technology training, and management of the library's computers. She has also worked with faculty on a variety projects from the use of Twitter in the classroom, to creation of faculty blogs and online surveys for research projects.
Since 2010, Emily has presented technology workshops for staff on a variety of topics, with materials from those presentations available online in this library guide. Since 2011 she has also focused on improving communication through the use of social media and the creation of a staff newsletter.
Emily is a member of the American Library Association and the Library Information Technology Association. She has presented at the annual CALI conference and attended and served on the organizing committee for WordCamp Chicago.
