2012 NATO Summit updates for the IIT Chicago-Kent community -- Updated 5/18/12

As Chicago hosts the NATO Summit May 20 to 21, 2012, there is the possibility of disruptions to "business as usual," including transportation to and from the city. Please note that the IIT Downtown Campus building will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20.

Update 1: Friday, May 18 (8:30 a.m.)

The U.S. Department of Defense has announced that air defense training exercises will take place in the skies over the greater Chicago area on Friday, May 18, beginning at 9 a.m. The exercises are expected to last about two hours and will involve various Air Force, Coast Guard and Air National Guard aircraft, including fighter jets. The exercise is being conducted in coordination of the U.S. Secret Service, which is in charge of security for the NATO Summit meetings in Chicago.
