How the Election of Judges and the Stunning Lack of Diversity on State Courts Threaten LGBT Rights

Empirical research from Professor Anthony Michael Kreis was included in a report released this week from Lambda Legal that examines the influence of judicial elections on the rights of LGBT people.

The report, available on Lambda's website, shows that judges elected to state supreme courts are often less supportive of LGBT rights than judges who are appointed.

Professor Kreis is available for interviews and can be reached directly at akreis1@kentlaw.iit.edu or (908) 268-1340.
